Breathing Life into Brixton’s Back Roads

Thinking of moving somewhere with true energy and soul? Look no further than Brixton, an area pulsing with creativity, culture, and that unmistakable London charm.

Brixton is a world of its own, packed with flavours, sounds, and experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Dive into Brixton Village Market for everything from Jamaican jerk to handmade pasta. And if you’re a music lover, iconic venues like Electric Brixton and The O2 Academy keep the beat going day and night.

Art lines the streets, with murals that honour legends like David Bowie, and green spaces like Brockwell Park offer stunning city views. You’ll also find community at every turn, from open-air yoga classes to creative pop-up events and family-friendly spots.

Stockbridge were given a brief to assist our client in creating a liveable space that can be called a home in the busy of heart Brixton. They had spent some time with their chosen architects, Avis Appleton of Wandsworth, to achieve planning for a three-bedroom uniquely shaped building fronting onto Gresham Road, behind a couple of their commercial premises.

With the difficulties of demolition and building so close to road, Stockbridge accepted the challenge and went onto create the three-storey part traditional brick and block with a steel structure and lightweight zinc finished third floor. Working in such a tight space brought about its fair share of construction challenges. From underpinning, to using winding party wall structures, space was limited and every centimetre counted. However, what we created was a beautiful home with all the conveniences of a modern property, as well as providing external sun traps in the ground and top floor.

This property, nestled amongst Brixton’s Victorian terraces and chic apartments, offers homelife as rich in character as the area itself. And with the Victoria Line at your doorstep, the city is just a heartbeat away

Mr Khan of SunStar Group said “We chose Adeel and his team as he was recommended by another developer friend of mine, and he did not disappoint. We are so pleased with Stockbridge that we are appointing them on our next project also.”

Ready to live where life truly happens? Brixton isn’t just a place to live—it’s a way to live.
